The Passion Behind The Lens
The role of a professional photographer is a lot bigger than most people realize. To say a professional photographer is just someone who pushes the button to take a pretty picture is like saying a writer is just someone who plunks keys at random to write a bestselling novel. What separates a seasoned photographer from the latest Instagram filter is more than just expensive equipment (although that helps!)—it’s our experience and commitment to producing the best shots possible. As the owner of my firm, I’m passionate about collaborating with you to tell you or your company’s amazing story visually. But while the result may look natural (and I’m proud of that), success only comes with real effort, which means, on any given day, beyond just shooting shots, my team and I also act as your…
- Art directors – setting up the shots to tell your story.
- Location scouts – finding the unique locations that are visually and narratively stimulating.
- Stylists – making you look good even if we have to give you the coat off our back.
- Psychologists – since genuine emotion can’t be faked.
- Re-touchers – because some things have to be faked.
- Lighting directors – dramatically effecting tone with shadow and light.
- Project managers – to ensure your shoot goes off without a hitch.
- MacGyvers – because when all else fails, nothing beats improvisation, experience and duct tape.
It’s these extra aspects about being a professional photographer that often get missed. But for the shots you deserve—ones that I’m proud to put my name on—I find it’s the best way to work. Based on your needs, we’ll bring together any and all necessary elements of my team to create the vibrant photography you need to show off your story, your design or your face. If you’d like to work with me and my team, contact me today for a free initial consultation.
I look forward to telling your story!

Vision & Approach
Collaboration: I love collaborating with other creative professionals. It really plays to my strengths. I am better at collaborating on an idea or concept than I am on creating the concept. I enjoy the process of going back and forth creatively and it always ends up making my photography stronger whether I am working with a great art director, make-up artist or stylist.
Reliable: In the business of photography you are often working under other people’s deadlines. The call to the photographer often comes as a last minute thought after the creative process has begun. This is why magazines and ad agencies often use the same photographers over and over. I deliver for my clients on time again and again. I once slept 6 hours over 2 full days to meet an advertising agency’s deadline.
Passion: I love photography. I love the act of creation through photography. I live all aspects of my life with passion. Whether it snowboarding, travelling, or my friendships, all are approached with passion. Passion fuels me to follow my dream of being a professional photographer.
Design oriented: I bring a designer’s eye and attention to detail with my work without actually being a designer. I understand composition implicitly. In my interior photography work I am able to distill what details are important to the design process.
Fun: I do what I do because I love it. My goal is to have fun while still being professional. I want my clients to have fun on a shoot. People work with people they like. If a client has fun on a shoot with me, then they will work with me again.
Accessible/Personable: I check my ego at the door on a photography shoot. I am friendly and fun and thus accessible. I encourage collaboration on my photography set. I am open to ideas from anyone on set. I may not always follow through on them but I am always open to listen.
Wow Effect: I always strive to create a wow effect with my work. I love to hear a client go “wow” or “that looks better than it does in real life”.
High Quality: I am committed to the highest quality within my work. I will go the extra mile or spend the extras hours to produce quality. I am not the cheapest option in the market for clients, but they get extremely high quality work at a really good value.
Beauty/Engaging: I strive to create images with feeling. I want to produce or document beauty. The viewer should want to step into one of my architecture images.
Creative: One of my strengths is to help bring an idea to life. I think of creativity as a muscle. You need to regularly work at it in order to keep it sharp and strong as a skill.
